How to learn languages through the video?

Dzisiaj kolejny post z serii: języki! Chciałabym przedstawić kilka sposobów na naukę języków poprzez różnego rodzaju videa.

Today I write a new post with a label: languages. I would like to present you some ways how to learn languages through watching videos.

A) Seriale, seriale i jeszcze raz seriale

TV Series, TV series and once again TV series

Filmy i seriale to jedna z najlepszych i najprzyjemniejszych metod nauki języka.
Najważniejszą rzeczą jest oglądanie ich bez lektora (nie cierpię!), z oryginalnymi napisami.
Na początku możecie zacząć od polskich napisów (żeby oswoić się z szybkością mówienia aktorów, czasami jest to niezłe wyzwanie). Później polecam napisy w języku oryginału (dla bardziej zaawansowanych). W tym miejscu chciałabym polecić Wam bardzo infantylny serial: Extr@. Znajdziecie go na YouTubie. Został stworzony w kilku wersjach językowych: angielskiej, francuskiej, hiszpańskiej i niemieckiej. Nie zrażajcie się głupawą fabułą i kiepską grą aktorów. Ten serial jest idealny dla początkujących, ponieważ używają w nim bardzo prostych zdań, a fabuła jest tak banalna, że z kontekstu można wydedukować, co wydarzy się dalej.

Films and TV series are the best and the nicest methods of learning languages. The most important thing is watching them without dubbing and lector (I hate it), with the original subtitles. In the beginning you can watch them with Polish subtitles (to learn how to understand actors who are speaking very quickly, sometimes it's very challenging). Then, I recommend to watch subtitles in the original language (for more advanced learners). Here I want to share with very infantile TV series: Extr@. You'll find it on YouTube. It was created in four language versions: English French, Spanish and German. Don't be discouraged by a stupid plot and rotten acting style. This TV series is perfect for the beginners because they use simple sentences and the plot is so cliche that you can find out from the context what's going on the next episode.

Bajki - bajki są wspaniałe. Wielu dorosłym, którym poleciłam oglądanie bajek żeby nauczyć się języka rozśmieszył ten pomysł. Ja uważam, że nie ma łatwiejszych filmików do nauki języka niż te, które są produkowane dla dzieci (czasem można się zdziwić). Najpopularniejsze to: Noddy (francuska wersja Oui oui), Postman Pat, Thomas The Engine, Dora The Explorer (amerykańska),  Fireman Sam (bardzo walijski akcent), Peppa Pig, Bananas in Pyjamas. Moje ulubione to: Little Princess, Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom.

Cartoons - cartoons are amazing. Most of the adults were laughing when I told them that they should watch cartoons to learn a foreign language. I think that that's the easiest films to learn language are produced for children (sometimes you an be surprised). The most popular ones are: Noddy (French: Oui Oui), Postman Pat, Thomas The Engine, Dora The Explorer (American), Fireman Sam (Welsh accent), Peppa Pig, Bananas in Pyjamas. My favourite: Little Princess, Ben and Holly's Little Kingdom.

B) Strony internetowe

Websites

Na wielu stronach internetowych znajdziecie ciekawe filmiki, jedną z nich jest TED (KLIK) - konferencja naukowa, na której wygłaszane są inspirujące i bardzo interesujące przemówienia na różne tematy. Podobnie jak w przypadku seriali - możecie sobie ustawić napisy polskie lub od razu oryginalne. Ja polecam Wam przemówienia Kena Robinsona.

You will find many interesting videos on the Internet. One of them is TED (CLICK) - the scientific conference where people make very inspiring and interesting speeches about different topics. As same as with TV series - you can turn on Polish subtitles or the original ones. I recommend you Ken Robinson's speeches.

Kolejną stroną, o której warto wspomnieć jest BBC Learning (KLIK), tu znajdziecie przeróżne materiały - nie tylko filmiki i nagrania, ale także ćwiczenia.

Next page which is very interesting is BBC Learning (CLICK), you'll find here loads of materials - not only videos but also exercises.

Na tej stronie znajdziecie różne videa native speakerów związane z językiem angielskim, polecam serdecznie, bo możecie się osłuchać i nauczyć rozróżniać różne akcenty - KLIK.

Here you can find native speakers' videos about English, it's nice because you can listen and differ from accents - CLICK.

Lyrics Training (KLIK) - łącz przyjemne z pożytecznym, strona podobna do karaoke, ale na klawiaturze. Musisz ze słuchu wpisywać słowa w luki (filling the gaps exercise), których brakuje. Polecam "Last Christmas", na pewno się nie zawiedziecie. Miektóre piosenki są bardzo trudne...(przynajmniej dla mnie :)

Lyrics Training (CLICK) - either exciting or practical, webpage similar to karaoke but on the keyboard. You must write words from the song in the gaps. The best is "Last Christmas" - you'll not be disappointed by your knowledge of English! Some of songs there are very difficult (at least for me).

Ostatnia strona to LANG-8 (KLIK). Polecam ją tym, którzy chcą doskonalić swój język pisany. Możecie wrzucić swój tekst razem z poleceniem i zostanie on poprawiony przez native speakerów lub nauczycieli z wyszczególnieniem każdego zdania i komentarzem.

The last page is LANG-8 (CLICK). It's the best for people who want to make their written language perfect. You can write there a text (even with the task) and it will be corrected by native speakers or teachers, they will correct every sentence and add a comment what's wrong.

C) VPN - jak to ugryźć?

VPN - how to?

Co do tego tematu - muszę jeszcze trochę poszperać. Wiadomo, że świetnym sposobem na naukę jest oglądanie anglojęzycznej telewizji. Zazwyczaj w pakiecie mamy jeden lub dwa anglojęzyczne programy informacyjne BBC i CNN i francuski TV5 - oprócz tego parę niemieckojęzycznych, np. RTL. Co zrobić, kiedy to nam nie wystarcza i chcielibyśmy więcej? Z pomocą przychodzi VPN, czyli kod, który możemy sobie wykupić aby oglądać obcojęzyczne programy. Nie chcę wdawać się w szczegóły, bo nie wiem, w jaki sposób się to załatwia, ale obiecuję zgłębić ten temat i napisać nowy post. Na dzień dzisiejszy chciałabym tylko Wam uświadomić istnienie tgo cuda :)

I must read about because I'm not absolutely sure how it works. Obviously, the best way of learning English is watching English TV. In Polish TV we usually have one or two English news programmes like BBC or CNN, French TV5 - apart from it some German, e.g. RTL. What to do when it's not enough and we want more? VPN - it's a code which we can buy and watch foreign language programmes. I don't know the further details because I don't know exactly how it works but I promise that I'll find out and write a new post about it. Today I just want to mention about the existence of this wonderful thing :)
